Please contact the Cowes Sonar Challenge Fleet office at Cowes specifying the type of event you are interested in creating and the preferred dates. We will then advise you of the applicable rates and the availability of the fleet. A complete race management service can be provided for events which, together with the club's extensive catering facilities, enables a package to be offered.

Boats can be hired for casual sailing use, subject to availability and provided you have sufficient experience of engine-less keelboats in tidal conditions.

Alternatively if you wish to enter any of the local regattas, please print off and complete the Sonar Booking Form in either Word or PDF Format

SONAR HIRE AND CHARTER CHARGES FOR 2008

MEMBERS

For ISC members, Sonars are available for hire at £50 per day or £30 per half day.

Full day is from 0900 to 1630 and half day is from 0900 - 1230 or 1300 - 1630.

As a special concession to encourage racing where boats are booked for a complete series they will be available at £40 per racing day. Entry fees for the series are not included in the hiring fee.

Tuesday evening racing is charged at £550 for the series.

Pay £250 up front and use a Sonar 6 times throughout the year *

Cowes Week boats are available for hire at £590 for the week.

NON-MEMBERS

For non-members including members of other sailing clubs, the rate is £115 per day + VAT.

As a special concession to encourage racing where boats are booked for a complete series they will be available at £70 per racing day. Entry fees for the series are not included in the hiring fee. Tuesday evening racing is charged at £940 for the series.

Entry fees for Tuesday evenings are included in the Sonar hire charge. For all other events Skippers must arrange payment of their entry fees, and may be required to join the Sonar Class Association. Sonar bookings can only be confirmed upon receipt of a 25% deposit which is non refundable if a booking is cancelled less than 28 days before the event begins. The balance is also due 28 days before the start of the event, and at which time, the damage deposit of £500 must also be arranged by MasterCard or Visa/Delta. The ISC only draws on the damage deposit if damage has occurred. * Sonars must be pre booked with the Sailing Secretary, and paid for in full - Sonars used for a few hours count as 1 full day - Full day is between 0900 to 1630hrs - This offer cannot be used in conjunction with other offers or during racing ** Sonars are not available on the evening of 5th August (Skandia Cowes Week) and 12th August (International Youth Week, Cowes)
