Photographs of Round the Island Race 2004
The largest, and
most spectacular yacht race of its kind in the world!
This is the race that
everybody wants to enter!

First sailed in 1931, the race still competes for the Gold Roman Bowl, the legendary trophy presented by the race's founder Cyril Windeler. Little did he realise what he was starting. Today, over 1500 yachts, from maxi-yachts to the smallest offshore categories, and from speedy multihulls to sedate old-timers, with Admirals Cuppers competing alongside families having fun; the race is a multitude of races within a race.
The race has always
been the coveted protégé of The Island Sailing Club. Today, with the complexities
of handicaps, thousands of entrants, press interest, concern for safety, communications
and control, the support of our Race Partners
is always greatly appreciated.
